More to the point... how do car seats work on buses? How would my wife lug around TWO car seats?
That is an awkward stage. Probably the 3 year old would walk onto the bus, with the adult carrying the infant. Or you would have both in a double stroller, with the infant in a car seat and the older one just ditting in the stroller. My bus company doesn't allow kids to sit in the stroller while on the bus. They have to sit on te seat or in paren't's lap, with the stroller in tghe aisle. It is cumbersome, but a lot of people do it. At least you don't have to buckle the child carrier into a seat belt, like you do in a car.
Remember, these awkward stages don't last very long (unless you have a lot of kids). In just a year, your oldest will be walking and sitting up with no problem whatsoever, and the baby will be less fragil.. Things will be easier then.
