Hello
First time posting in C&V, but I picked up this DBS Spesail.

So I'm naturally curious: ) From what, little, searching I have done I know that the DBS company was sold off to a bigger company. There is one site with a matching bike that discusses it well, but steal leaves some questions. Like durability,
There is not a lot of welding here, and the steel I am guessing is gas pipe, which I am not familiar with. Hope gas pipe can handle the wet

. The frame is a size to large for me, so not a terrible fit for a beater? This bike will be used for rides with my wife mostly. And maybe some commutes. The bike is a 650b wheeled 3-speed with internal hub. All parts are stamped with Norway and other than the stem seems to be stock.
The seat is nothing more than a frame and I am debating between restoring the seat or just replacing it with something else. Cost wise the restore is as much as a brooks replacement.
This is my first vintage bike, and am finding it exciting. So far the few small rides I have taken have been fun, even if a little confusing on the shifter. Which I did a search, and was able to have the broken 3-speed shifter replaced. Tires and tubes are in progress, a.k.a on order. Other than that I am going to try and keep it low maintenance.
Thanks
