I don't think you can get a warranty from Dahon. The Dahon warranty "applies only to the original owner and is not transferable." You are purchasing the bike from the original owner. Keep in mind that you are getting a "new" bike at a "used" price. I would pay an authorized Dahon dealer to assemble the bike. That assembly should include adjusting the brakes and gears and truing the wheels, if necessary. They should let you know if they find any obvious issues with the frame, fork or handlepost. FWIW, I purchased my 2008 Speed P8 used with no warranty (and no regrets).
