I just bought one of these BB's for a project. The box had
two instructions sheets in it. One has a outline drawing of a road bike on the "cover". The other has a drawing of a mountain bike. Other than these drawing, there's nothing to indicate the intended application of the instructions.
It's multi-lingualism taken to absurd limits.
You probably grabbed one "booklet", saw some English writing, assumed the other one had additional foreign languages on it, and went with your first choice - which in reality was the MTB version.
