It just seems silly to me that people who don't drive cars have to get an auto policy with high liability limits in order to get decent UM/UIM coverage for when they're on their bike. I just question this because of the much lower potential for causing liability when riding a bike vs. a car. Why should they have to pay for large liability coverage limits just to get when they need for UM/UIM? Or would a better strategy for those people just be to get low limits on a non-owner policy and an umbrella policy to push the limits higher?
A better strategy for these folks is to get health coverage that includes accident coverage, and use the liability coverage that is included in their renters or owners policy.
