I have just rode the commute. Its a little hairy at certain points but in this 90+ heat it was less than fun. Im trying to find someone with a road bike that I can try on the same route and compare but as of now I only have the mtb. So theres no frame of reference. But there was some wind and it was like pushing a log through the water at some points. UGH! One of my friends said that getting a 70 80's cheap road bike is a rite of passage for some riders, funny everyone I have asked remissness about their beater roadie.
