I come from a mountain biking, running, and hiking background.
I suffered many injuries in the last 5 years: Double knee surgery in 2010 (meniscus & microfracture), Bilateral inguinal hernia surgery in 2009, 2007 ankle sprain required 6 week cast.
I no longer feel comfortable doing many of the outdoor activities I once did, and I am now looking towards road biking as my new staple for exercising.
I was never fitted for my mountain bike, but I did feel comfortable on my 2004 ellsworth truth bike.
However, I think this time around I need to be fitted professionally, to address my injuries.
Someone mentioned looking up SICI certified trainers in my area, but the only one I found works at the bicycle ranch bike shop in Scottsdale. It looks like they do a good job, and have all the latest and greatest fitting equipment, but I feel conflicted that this SICI certified person works for a bike shop. They have limited product, and I dont want to be pressured to buy one of their bikes.
Should I not worry about that? Is there any independents in the area that I could use?
Thanks for taking the time to read, first time poster, so go easy on me!
