As of this evening, I've logged 2,353.6 miles in 317 rides to date in 2011, for an average of 7.42 miles. Which is higher than I thought.

I log each direction of my commute separately, so if I count them as round trips, I have to back out 112 rides. Then my average jumps to 11.42.

But also bear in mind that it's only 0.82 miles round trip for grocery shopping, and there are at least 27 of those in there too. I had a lot of troubles with glasses this year, so there are lots of 2.17 mile round-trips to my optician.

So if we back out 27 rides and 27 miles for groceries, and 10 rides and 20 miles for the optician, we get 2306.6 miles and 168 rides, or 13.72.

Remove all the commutes, that's another 112 rides and 1120 miles for 1186.6 miles in 56 rides or 21.19 miles. Which is a little less than what I would have guessed for recreational rides.

Lots of way to look at it...
