Just wanted to say thanks for all the help/hints/advice!

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone here who has put up with all my noob questions, and given me such invaluable help/hints/tips/etc......

I know this is all old hat for most of you, but just wanted to relate my gratitude....

Last two nights I have not been riding, as I had my 87 Schwinn Traveler torn apart in the garage(plus it has been raining, so my timing was fortuitous), doing maintenance on my hubs, cleaning hubs and replacing all bearings, re-greasing and readjusting the cones(that was more time consuming and patience testing than I thought it would be...lol) so that everything was cool when the qr was clamped down.

Also replaced my 6 speed freewheel with a new SunRace 7 speed freewheel, as well as replacing the chain with an 8 speed SRAM chain.

Needless to say, I moved at a snail's pace, trying to make sure I did everything right....rechecking youtube videos, as well as info here and in my Zinn road bike book.

In the end, everything turned out great......I readjusted everything last night after taking her for a few test rides. Then I took her out for a beautiful 18 mile checkout ride this evening. Damn, she was so much quieter, the shifting was so silky smooth....I thought she rode good before. WOW, the old Traveler just rode like a dream tonight........was a wonderful ride!!!!

Huge thanks to all of you here, as I now have a small bit of confidence in working on my bike. Next up is the BB and headset bearings, and then replacing the handlebars, stem, tape, brake levers, and brakes.

Again, thanks so much to everyone here!!!!!
