Don't take a bike you like on the beach. The sand and salt will ruin anything with gears. I would stick to the trails with your own bike. Rent a beach cruiser if you want to ride on the actual beach. If you do take your own bike on the beach, rinse immediately with fresh water and hit it with WD-40 (or better corrosion protection), and then sell it
