Well today's ride was abbreviated because of rain, again! It just won't quit. Wish it would rain on the days I don't care about.

So not much to report there. 14 mile ride brings the total up to 591 miles. I made up for it by pushing myself hard for those 14 miles.

Something else then, since there isn't much to report there:

I've waited for a while to take any new pictures of myself because I wanted to be able to like what I saw in the picture compared to what I used to be. I finally took some pictures today, and wanted to share my before and after!

This is what I looked like late last year, so you can see how big I was. Sad thing is, I actually gained a few pounds after that before I finally did something about it. I'm the guy in the blue and white stripe.

Finally I'm not ashamed of how the camera makes me look anymore. I've still got a bit more to lose but I'm proud that I can visually see the difference. I definitely feel a ton better and have been able to tell the difference in the fit of my clothes and the way I look in the mirror. Even the way people treat me has changed for the positive, but that may be because my attitude about life in general has greatly improved. Diet changes have had a lot to do with it, but a HUGE portion of the credit goes to that black and yellow guy in the background. If it weren't for finding a sport I really enjoy I'd never have gotten to where I am now.

This is the first time I've really ever dedicated to something like this and stuck with it. Best of all is that everything I'm doing right now is sustainable, so that when I reach my target weight the pounds won't come flying back on. There isn't much about my current lifestyle that will change once I get there.
