It's not a good idea, nor is it a bad idea. It's up to your skill level really. Some people can probably do it easily, though I personally wouldn't do it, but I've only got one winter's worth of riding experience. There are plenty of 700c studded tires that would probably be a better idea. It'll fit on your rim, but the bigger issue is if it'll fit on your bike. Most of these tires will be in the 35-40c range.
