You probably won't. You'll most likely leave it on one gear forever. That's what everyone else does.

Don't encourage them. They aren't better riders or faster than anyone else. They just do ballsy stuff for the camera. Basically just typical showoffs.

That's cool. But, you aren't hearing the good advice that people are offering you. MANY of the die-hard fixed-gear folks are either buying road bikes as a 2nd bike or moving to road bikes all together. You are ahead of the game and you don't even know it.
Also, it would be nice if you used the occasional uppercase letter and paragraph breaks. When you write, your words are all that are here to represent you. Right now, you are coming off as a 14 year old typing on a cell phone. Just sayin'.
