other tools:
rags, brushes (plastic, brass, steel), some kind of pointed plastic things, light lubricants, rubbing alcohol, rubbing compound, soap and water, spray on car wax

i've done a tiny bit of touch up on paint with nail polish.. if you don't get a really close color match i think it just looks better to leave the blemish


so far for small amounts of rust i have found a brass brush to be the best thing.. it takes off rust but doesn't scratch paint or anything.

for rusty chains i use a phosphoric acid based "rust converter" since it turns the chain black. rust converter and a brass brush also works for heavier amounts of rust. in general i avoid using chemicals for rust if i can just use a brush..
