So very sorry for you. It looks terribly painful. Every time I go out I wonder a little if this is the time it will happen to me. At my age I somewhat doubt my ability to bounce back very well. That was terribly irresponsible of the parties involved not to have clearly marked that hazard. Plus the mottled shadows would add to obscuring a hazard if that was the case when you were riding. It would be just like trying to cross a rail track.
