Nothing bad about freewheel hubs inherently ,
As a single speed hub, they are is still popular.
I use an Un Cheap Phil Wood Freewheel hub, on my loaded touring bike.
it's been fine for decades..
New ones using 135 wide axle, narrower 7 speed freewheel ,
the spokes are evenly tensioned, and dish is nil.
