There were also bulges present on the tread of BOTH tires. Since I had to pull my tires so often I kept on noticing how many cuts were on these tires. There were an alarming number of cuts in the tires with so many pieces of gravel and little rocks imbedded in the tires. If you change you tires every 1000 miles no matter what, these tires are a bargain. A BETTER option would be to go with Vittoria Zaffiro Pro Slick tires. They are sometimes cheaper and you can get more miles out of them. The Serfas Seca RS tires are fragile in my opinion.
Don't you check your tires or clean them after a ride? Flats are inevitable, no tire will be puncture proof. This tire has good puncture resistance. Mine happened to last me 3000 miles and yours seemed to last you less. Even with the VERY BEST puncture resistant tire (which will always be objective), you still have to check for cracks and splits.
