After doing so, with no possible danger to him, he goes pass me and yells "watch out a - hole; get a real bike". So, he didn't go that fast at all despite the seriousness of his build.
I ended up following him with just my normal pace without him knowing, thanks to the lack of derailleur and freewheel clicks. The route of my commute is a popular bike route. He goes on to look back and yells, "What's wrong with you, stop following me, you r*tard". There was a steep climb coming up and instead of responding to his insult again, yeah I'm very passive, I just simply sprinted up the hill, claiming him with ease but taking my sweet time to pass him from the outside, so he could get a good look. I even heard his gears all shifting in attempt to catch up to me but to no avail.
Anyhow, I think he took an alternate route as he was no where in sight as after, I actually wanted him to try to catch up in a straight section so I can go on a all out sprint on a townie.
Haha, great story. In my experience roadies in the San Diego area are big as*holes. Triathletes are nicer, but bigger tools.
