^ Yeow! Glad you lived thru it!

Clipless: Not yet, but close
Toe Clips: Kinda
platforms: Yes, but due to doing stupid s*&t as a kid

Been riding clipless now for 2-3 months. Almost fell when I was on a path (wooded), and a lady came out of the trees, preceded by her two dogs on leashes... stretched across the path. I didn't get unclipped, but stopped to avoid hitting the dogs, and managed a track stand long enough for her to pull them back. The this is going to hurt was starting to go thru my head, but I managed to take off without falling.

Rode into the garage once while learning clipping/unclipping and couldn't get unclipped at first, but managed as well.

Toe clips/straps: I almost fell one of the first times I used cleated shoes. I thought it would look better to tuck the ends of the straps into the slots on the buckles. Looked great until I got to the red light... Fortunately, there was a telephone pole or the stoplight pole right next to me, so I held myself up until I got the strap loosened.
