I have no trouble believing the heat was contributing factor to the final failure of the casing, but as mentioned above, the tire has some obvious damage, and it is clearly very worn, so probably should have been replaced soon even if thee casing had not failed. Glad there was no major incident as a blowout on the front tire can be bad. Call this one a near miss and check your tires for damage regularly.
