I needed a bike for school. So I search craigslist. I wanted a mountain bike so I could get around yet still hit a couple of trails on the weekends and have it not be nice enough to where it would get stolen. That is an impossible median to reach. Oh, and I need a 23" inch frame. Even harder to find.

One guy had an 07 Specialized Hardrock that he wanted 400 for. Great bike, but if I'm gonna pay 400, I might as well dump 200 more and just get it brand new.

But for me, it seemed like there was nothing in the 200-300 dollar range that wasn't a Mongoose or a Pacific. And people are absolutely stupid. You ask them "What's the frame size?" You get an e-mail back saying "26."

At that point, I just didn't even bother replying. I wound up buying a new one. Bought a Kryptonite New York Lock. If it gets stolen, it gets stolen. I'll do my best to lock it up.
