I think many ppl refer to the "dead" feeling of carbon frames as the muting of road buzz, which can be a good thing. Personally, when I say a bike feels dead, it's not a good thing. It means the bike lacks liveliness and doesn't feel snappy, which is usually a by-product of torsional flex.
So there's really lacking "buzz" and lacking "zip."
Dead can mean two things.
