Ok, So i haven't bought a bike since i was in my teens, and to say things have moved on is an understatement.

I basicly looking to buy a bike which is a bit of an all rounder, Something for off road but also will be used for work commuting. There's so much to choose from its not even funny.

I've looked at the specialized range and a few other well known brands but what would you suggest.

Budget is around £500
