Yeah. My #1 internet rule is to not believe anybody that claims to be something that can't be substantiated. For the most part, it's some n00b trying to say something they aren't to gain credibility in a losing argument. I always thought that if someone is an authority on something, they will come off that way without having to announce it. And then there is always the possibility that they are actually what they say they are but happen to not be an authority on the subject despite that. I'm not sure which is more common.
