Very important question which the OP hasn't answered, what is their purpose, does the OP need disc or rim brakes. or what axel size they want, 126mm-150mm

For most applications now, there are very high quality factory wheels avaliable, which will be should fufil most ordinary users needs, if the OP is building ovesized / non spec bikes, the OP will probably be limited to modifying avaliable parts, like taking two rims, cutting and welding them back together, or looking at something like a Surly Pugsley rim.
