Was it the crack in the road that caused that guy to go down?

My 30+ mph crash was similar to jdon, I was flying downhill and someone shot out of their driveway without looking or even slowing down. I impacted the front fender and Supermanned through the air over the hood. Miraculously, it was trash day and I somehow landed in a pile of cans and bags. I walked away with only some bruises and minor cuts, but hurt like heck for a while and my shoulder to this day has never been the same. I was wearing a leather helmet, if anyone remembers those, and I do remember thumping my head on something. Almost everything on the bike suffered some kind of damage, with the frame, fork, wheel, and handlebar being a total loss. The rear wheel was bent and the saddle was severely rashed.
