Which does bring an indexing question into it... With a 6 or 7 speed setup- Shimano indexed shifters, can you make indexing work on, say a Huret derailleur with a Suntour freewheel? Or is this just a case of "try it, it's so crazy- it just might work"?
No clue, try and see if it works. Most of my bikes use the ORIGINAL indexed shifting
