Unless you are riding a frame that takes long-reach brakes....they will work just fine pretty much any bike. (caveat would be pre-recessed allen head mounting nuts, or as stated, older long-reach brake spec'd frames) A well made single-pivot caliper will have plenty of stopping power. And a really well designed caliper will have both stopping power and great modulation.
