Never have I witnessed such chicanery at any of the shops I have worked at. As Velocipedio pointed out, there is no incentive at all to do such things, based on the generous employee discounts offered by most vendors. Never mind that the employee would have to sneak something like that out under the boss' nose while hoping said bike never returned to the shop, to avoid the altered parts would coming into question.
The more you and your hubby spout such unsubstantiated nonsense (see one of his posts), the more this seems like trollsville.
I am certainly not the only one who has heard of shady wrench's. I'm not saying they all are shady... didn't mean to imply it either. I have even heard of the parts that were lifted being sold on Ebay....
I gave you my side of the story. If you choose to see it as "unsubstantiated nonsense" then that's your right. You are overwhelmingly in the minority here though. I certainly wish I had the time and inclination to post such messages just to irritate people like you... unfortunately this is an actual situation that actually happened.
