Picked up this old Bianchi off craigslist. I still have no idea what it was exactly besides the fact that it had a Campangolo Valentino Extra gruppo which dates it to around '70-'71
The gruppo was ****ty, so I decided to strip it.
And sand it.
Primered it.
Found a color similar to Celeste Green that I got mixed into rattlecans and painted the damn thang.
The paint used was a PPG "Omni" Base..not really sure what Omni is but all the guys at the paint shop sure seem to hate it. I assume its a new eco friendly paint that the EPA watered down. Also, the paint was just a base, so a few healthy sessions of gloss clearcoat went down.
Anyways, I got the parts and threw it together.
It has:
170mm 46t Vuelta Pista Crankset
18t Surly Fixed
16t Dicta FW
Miche Primato Pista BB
All-City Pedals with Forte clips and straps
Forte Saddle (hopefully to be replaced with a Brooks)
ViNtAgE GB Drops that were on the bike originally (I wanna replace that with the bianchi pista curve drops)
Weinmann DP18's with Origin 8 flipflop wrapped in Rubino Pro's
Not pictured:
White bar tape
Got rid of the white KMC chain pictured and replaced it with a Spank Half Link chain thats pretty rugged.
Front Shimano Ultegra-Quality Brake
Me fixing the headset spacer and wiggle issues tomorrow.
Overall, pretty fun experience and I wanna keep playing around building bikes up and stuff.
