!!!UPDATE!!!
I called Orbea USA today and talked to one of the inside sales reps there. This is what he said...
We have a new Onix spec (Onix LE) that we are trying to get to a specific price point of $2499 (what I was quoted at the LBS). It has AL bars, stem, Gossamer alloy crank, different seat post and either Mavic Ksyrium Equipe or Shimano wheelset, Ultegra 10, etc...
So, after talking with my wife and the guy at Orbea USA, we came to the conclusion that the LBS was trying to put me in the Onix LE, but never told me so. If they had said that up front, then maybe things would be different. So, like many of you have said, I got a great bike at an even greater price. I dont regret asking the LBS to change the parts out for what I was quoted at all.
Wifey (mom2three3) is on her way to the LBS to talk to the owner and let him know that the bike is great, it was the customer service that is lacking now. There is nothing that I expect out of the bike shop now to make it right. I believe that my bike is right and I am still very happy and pleased with what I purchased. I will have to let you guys know what the final outcome of the situation is.
When I stated earlier that this is a reputable bike shop, I meant it. I dont think that they go around doing things like this all the time (which we can assume now is legit, legal, moral, etc...), but all it takes is one turd in your mouth to turn you away from eating $hit forever.
Will I go back there??? Probably so. Will I drop boatloads of money there, maybe not. The wifey wants a new Cervelo in a few months so we will have to see by then. Besides, if anything ever happens to the Onix, I will have to go back...they are the only Orbea Dealer within 3 hours of me.
Thanks for all the helpful comments whether good, bad, or indifferent.
