also I think the OP sounds like the right kind of person physique-wise to do some weight weenieing. A few pounds is a drop in the bucket for a donut hound such as myself.
It's small -- 21-inch frame with narrow drops. Fits my five foot five inch frame perfectly, which is why, in addition to sentimentality and eccentricity, I'm interested in investing a little money if it actually makes it lighter and better.

Which brings me to my next question (pardon the newbieness of it): would all this weight cutting really relate to a better, easier ride?
