Dav395z, Back when I rebuilt my '80 RRA I lost ~2.5 lbs. replacing the wheelset, seatpost, and stem from steel to aluminum then swapping the saddle... I don't remember if the handlebars were originally steel or not.

Light weight wasn't the aim of the rebuild, I just replaced rusty steel with aluminum and substituted better fitting parts. Original weight was nearly 30 lbs. so it's not like I made a light weight bike, just a little less heavy.
