As an OFA/EMR, as someone who worked at an ABI/SCI (acquired brain injury/spinal cord injury) rehab and as someone who's mother-in-law died from an otherwise avoidable head injury I'm all about the helmets. $20 or $200, as long as it meets all the requirements then bravo.
People just don't consider the long term costs associated with head injuries whether it's the cost on the health care system or the burden put upon family members.

Brain injuries are forever. There's no coming back. Not to where you were before.
Last accident had me hitting the head hard on the pavement. I've decided since that the inconvenience of a helmet is worth it.
