Going crosschain makes a hell of a noise on the front derailleur's chain guide. You can trim it with SRAM mountainbike twisters too, and it's nice.

Conversely in the rear you will get a little chatter or resistance to shift to the smallest cog. But I could still see trimming it out being a nice alternative to dealing with some noise or getting off to make a small tweak in the rear.

Me, I just change chainrings.
