I guess that is what I was trying to say about the trim feature (maybe in a long, round-about way). My friend had just called me (before I wrote the post) telling me how he wishes that he had put Ultegra in his new Pinarello. He is the one who sold me the Litespeed and he says he really misses the trim feature.
So your observations are similar to my friend's observations regarding the trim feature.
