Sometimes you're just better off without a ferrule. If you want to reduce the friction between the housing and adjsuter, you can use some silicone grease for the plastic. For the bottom you can cut and file a ferrule down to just the bottom disc, or buy 2 #2 brass washers and put them at the bottom, to allow free rotation under tension.
