You have probably never seen your true max HR and you are not likely to reach it by yourself. What you saw could be cardiac drift as a result of the intensity, duration, and some dehydration. Or you just worked harder than you typically do and you are capable of more than you think. Riding with faster people makes us push ourselves closer to the limit. It's a good thing as long as your Dr. has given you a clean bill of health.

- No need to stop or slow down unless you can't make it home.
- Maybe dehydration or bonk. Heart attack not likely.
- It's ok to push it if you feel good.
- Max HR is the highest number you've seen. Bump it when you see a higher one.
I think this, too. Remember, you don't really see your best fitness for at least a couple of years of riding consistently, so you're still building it up.
Sounds like you just got in over your head a little bit. You should do that more often.
