Not to derail the OP's thread but to those of you that have ridden both the Vittoria Randonneur Pro and the Hyper, what differences if any did you notice. As always, thanks for your input.
the two I've ridden are different sizes so I can't quite make one to one comparison. The Pro is 35mm and the Hyper is 37 but looks like a 40. Both nice riding tires but for occasional gravel roads I'd rather ride on Schwalbe XR or similar tread. For dirt/gravel roads I'd want a front tire with a flatter profile like the Specialized Borough or Schwalbe Extreme, just checked the Schwalbe website, holy moly, a 700x35 Extreme/Dureme are $90 and the Supreme is $80. wow
