nashville is indeed a great place to cycle

there are a lot of great rides. i just moved from central nashville out to rural williamson county (way south). i am unfamiliar with rides up north (hendersonville). but williamson county has tons of great rides. you need to get the book "bicycling middle tennessee". it is indispensible to the nashville cyclist

percy warner park is the crown jewel of local parks. miles of paved, relatively traffic free roads (5.8 and 11 mile loops are the most popular) it is hilly and windy and is my favorite ride.

the natchez trace parkway is also very nice. it is a national park road and a fun ride...the surface is like glass ....just watch out for the rvs on the weekend.

there are lots of great bike shops

my favorite is gran fondo www.granfondocycles.com

allanti is also an excellent shop www.allanti.com
i also like harpeth bicyles in franklin www.harpethbicycles.com

as far as shop up towards hendersonville i have heard good things about jolly cyclist www.thejollycyclist.com but have never shopped there

there are bike clubs www.harpethbikeclub.com is the best known. i have a weird work schedule and don't ride with them but they are very active. all the above shops schedule rides

chrisvu05....good to see some vandy people here...on faculty there but not a grad...go wake forest!!!!!
