i have one...
that frame has nothing to do with or is remotely like a kilo or any other bikedirect proprietary product. i got it to rebuild my car-wrecked se premium brew, which i loved dearly, since it is the same lugged maxway frame. and it is a great-riding frame.
but i should have been prepared for the usual bd/bi lousy quality control...
it arrived in very poor shape. they've had these frames in their warehouse for several years & obviously took no steps to protect them from moisture. mine had plenty of interior corrosion & the plated finish was no work of art. plus, the included headset is a bottom-end, open-cage bearing, pos.
all that being said, i gritted my teeth & kept the frame. i treated the hell out out of it with naval jelly, moisture dispersant & frame-saver, used my own headset & built that baby up. right now it is a conglomeration of mis-matched parts from my spares stash along with remnants from my pb so i don't post pics cuz i know it will get ridiculed here. even tho it's not pretty, i do ride it lots as my big mile-eater bike & it rides & handles like a champ.
the question you gotta ask yourself cs1, is...
are you willing to spend $300 on a new frame, knowing that it is not "shovel ready" & that you will surely need to invest additional time & $ to even get it ready for building.
the fact of the matter is that i did & am happy with my perhaps foolish choice.
edit: damn scrod beat me to it, man is he quick
