I figure I'll ask my question here, since it seems as good as spot as any.

What does it roughly cost for these company's to make a bike? Let's say 1000 MSRP. What does it cost for the company to make the bike. And then, what is the invoice that a LBS pays for it?

I understand that these companies obviously buy materials and such in bulk, but does anyone have any rough estimates on what it costs them to produce one bike?

I'm talking major brands such as Specialized, Giant, etc...
