i'd be SHOCKED if my body uses more than 10 calories per mile. i'm serious, it's so monumentally frustrating living with a metabolism this efficient (slow) in a society built almost entirely around food consumption. at some point in the past, my genetic ancestors lived through some wicked hardcore famines. i'm just the lucky one who gets to have those genes expressed in a time when such an adaptation is unnecessary.
