I have a road bike with clip-on aero bars (
Profile T2+) and would like to change the shifting to the aero bars.
My shifters are Shimano, and have little levers on the "inboard" side of the hood, as opposed to shifting paddles behind the brake lever. I am not sure what model they are, but the front shifter says "triple" (I have 3 chanirings). The rear is 8-speed.
I think I understand what to do, but wanted to check with you guys.
I think I can get a
Shimano SL-BS64 Ultegra Bar End Shifter Set (8-Speed), disconnect the shift cables from the handlebar shifters, run them through the aero bars and connect to the bar end shifters, and then put the bar end shifters into the aero bars. I think I have enough housing to do that without buying more.
Then the existing shifters/brake levers will just be brake levers. I'm assuming I don't need to replace or modify those.
Does that sound about right?
