Does Shimano's web site suck, or is it just me?

I can do without the inspiring race pictures, would like some actual information.

I went to a bike shop yesterday to get some bar end shifters. "What kind?" the guy asks as he's looking something up on his computer.

"Eight-speed rear," I say.

"Eight-speed?!?!?!? No one has made those for years!"

I am assuming he went to the Shimano web site, which definitely would give you that impression.
