No sooner had I started pedaling again than I hear the roar of a diesel engine behind me. Not only is this guy flat out running the stop, he's trying to pass me down a hill approaching a blind curve.

Naturally the instant he pulls around me, he gets in front of me and throws up the right turn signal. Great, now he's trying to right hook me, I guess.
Huh. This happened to me on Friday, Seattle style. Riding up a moderate incline, straight road, but not a ton of room to pass, stop sign less than a block ahead. Heard engine revving behind me and sure enough some guy passes me and cuts in right as I'm getting to stop sign. I almost ran into his rear bumper. I yell, "Hey! You cut me off!" He looks at me, "No, I didn't." "Yes, you certainly did!" "No, I didn't!" I say, "You know, I was travelling straight at this point, you cut off my right of way at the stop." "No, I didn't!" So now he's way over used the seconds he perceived he'd saved...he then says something ignorant about not understanding what I'm talking about (girl in car not responding at all staring ahead...), I told him to look up the RCW when he gets home. He asks, "RCW? What is..." Me, "The ROAD RULES and you'll find that you are wrong." He then mutters something sarcastic like "I'll get right on that" pulls away taking a right turn essentially from the left lane with no turn signal. Yep. Those smart drivers know everything they do is infallible all right. And what really irks me is when you point out that they are actually incorrect (even as you are doing everything completely legally) they still manage a wierd righteousness. Me driver. Me know all. Me first.
