If you want to raise your handlebars you will probably end up with an odd space below your stem and above your headset.

I recommend putting threadless headset spacers in this space. You might need something like electrical tape to take up the extra room but it will be invisible when completed and will keep the spacers seated well.

The end result is a very slick looking transition from headset to stem. It will look just like a threadless set up
