What should you have done?
1. Passed the 3 riders from the start
2. Join them, when you get to the front, slow down and go their speed? Then excuse yourself, let the next person take over and resume your 24-26 as you pass the guy that took over?
3. Do exactly as the story is told above.
4. Not get into a paceline with people you don't know the riding skills of in the first place.
