I just read this entire thread and loved the pics of the beautiful Panasonics. I am the original owner of an 85 Sport LX. I know it wasnt a high end model, but when I was a kid I loved it like anything else. Back then I modified it with many upgrades including Diacompe aero brake levers, Shimano 105 pedals, Vetta seat, Suntour crank set, etc.

I am currently restoring it back to its late 80's glory and have most of an 80's Vintage 105 group set for it. After sitting for 23 years (first 16 years in a shed and the last 7 in my basement) took its toll. The shifters and brakes seized. The grease in the bottom bracket and head set bearings dried up and ofcourse the tires, tubes and bar tape were a mess.
