I would agree on some drying time, but a full 24 hours is unecessary. A little bit of inflation to close the cut and squeeze out the excess. I've used Shoe-Goo on running shoes and Military boots since the 70's.
Me too.

And I've had the bond come apart when I tried to use it too soon. 8 hours has always been long enough for my own applications , but 24 hours is what the mfg. recommends.
I've used Duco Cement for the same purpose, but I don't think it works as well.
